ECOM was looking for a digital service to sign and manage contracts with our sub-contractors based both in and outside the European Union. We had looked at a number of service providers, and after consideration and rounds of consultation, we chose sign.online.”
Hi Reader, my name is Caroline Smith, and I worked with sign.online as a legal intern for the summer. I am sharing my experience because, as an American, I had no concept of data privacy or digital identity. It took a lot of initial research for me to even understand the GDPR, let alone how to put it into practice. However, once I understood the law and all the jargon that’s used, I really enjoyed doing compliance work! Reading the literal fine print of a company’s terms of service is usually enough to make someone’s eyes glaze over, but I enjoyed it because it felt meaningful. Knowing that everything I learned and applied had real impact made the work fulfilling.
The world is changing rapidly, and digital solutions and new technologies are playing a critical role in shaping our future. However, some countries are further ahead in their digital transformation journey than others. If we do not accelerate our efforts in this regard, we risk losing our competitiveness on a global scale. In this blog post, I will explore the importance of digital transformation and how it can be accelerated through a shift in mindset and the adoption of best practices.
Oriti Patents (Switzerland) turned to us for a solution to their contract management challenges, because we offer custom B2B integrations without minimum monthly usage or subscription fees. We worked closely with Oriti Patents to understand their specific requirements and developed a custom solution that enabled them to create, manage, and sign POAs (Power of Attorneys) in a fast, safe, and legal way, irrespective of where the parties were located.
According to an analysis by a US-based identity management provider, the average internet user has around 90 online accounts. Add to that the various kinds of physical identities like state-issued ID cards, supermarket loyalty cards, and library cards and we can probably round this up to a neat 100 identities. The problem with this situation is not the diversity of accounts or identities, but rather the low levels of security and assurance.
We enhance digital mobility by helping people create and sign contracts online. After setting the world record in fastest company incorporation (15min 33sec) at London Tech Week 22, we have been working hard to realise this goal and have launched two legal services: NDA and Contractor Agreement, sold at EUR 4,99 and EUR 9,99 respectively.
